Absolutely incredible meal! We had an amazing dinner here and every dish exceeded our expectations. We started with the Anchoas , which was incredibly flavorful with the savory butter and charred sourdough. The Ensalada de Calamar was light, refreshing, and beautifully textured with the pomegranate seeds and preserved lemon. For the mains, both the Arroz Meloso and the Rossejat were absolute showstoppers. The lobster rice was rich and comforting, while the toasted fideos (noodles) were packed with fresh seafood flavor and cooked to perfection. A fantastic spot for sharing great food with great company. Wonderful flavors, lovely atmosphere, and excellent service. Highly recommend

One of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn. Great to come back today after many years. Simple preparation with seasonal ingredients, but every dish is delicious. I highly recommend the eggplant, their version of pan con tomate, white asparagus special, leg of lamb special, and dessert special that was a cross between French toast and croissant with blueberries and ice cream. Can't recommend highly enough - 5 shining stars!

La Vara has a lovely, cozy vibe and a clean & spacious environment. The food is delicious, but definitely reserve a spot first — otherwise you may not be able to get in! I don’t fancy octopus easily, but the pulpo de roca was memorable; it was fresh, light, and cut really thin. I’d just say some parts of the Cochinillo fell a bit too salty. Everything is rather small portioned (so expect this to be a bit pricey) but good quality, making it suitable for a relaxed night out - one where you indulge yourself!

La Vara serves outstanding Spanish cuisine with remarkable attention to detail. The morros prensados and cochinillo were perfectly fatty and tender with rich, complex flavors. Their arroz meloso and rossejat delivered buttery grains perfectly seasoned with complementary spices. Everything we tried was delicious but we left slightly hungry despite sharing more than 10 dishes among our group of five, which was disappointing

Came here for the first time and was delighted by the good food. We were two persons and had over 8 to 10 dishes including dessert and a few drinks. The most outstanding dishes were the salchichon, arroz meloso and morros prensados, I was pretty impressed of their taste. We had a vermut and wine to drink with the dishes. Service was superb and the atmosphere great, even though the place was full. The desserts were also very good. Overall this is an excellent Spanish tapas plates with a twist and I will definitely comeback here again.
