After reading so many great reviews, we decided to try Rua Thai during our visit to Brooklyn. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, the staff is very attentive, and the service was quick. The prices were also fair for the quality and location. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet our expectations. The vegetarian spring rolls were the highlight of our meal—crispy and flavorful. However, the chicken skewers lacked seasoning and flavor, and the noodles had a strong fish flavor that overpowered the dish, which wasn’t to our liking. Despite our experience, the restaurant was very busy and clearly popular with the locals, so it’s evident that many people enjoy it. While the atmosphere and service were excellent, we felt the food itself fell short of the high expectations set by the reviews.

Came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and it was such a great experience! The restaurant has a cozy, authentic Thai atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. We ordered the Mama Tom Yum noodles, duck wraps, and the seafood Tom Yum soup. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The Mama Tom Yum noodles were definitely the standout dish, and the seafood soup was packed with ingredients and perfectly balanced. The best part of the night was the thoughtful service. When the staff found out we were celebrating a birthday, they surprised us with a candle for dessert, which made the celebration even more special. Great food, great service, and excellent value at around $30 per person. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back!

My husband and I went for a dinner date at RUA Thai NYC, and we had such a lovely experience. The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing dinner. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, which made us feel comfortable right away. We enjoyed a variety of dishes including pineapple fried rice, teriyaki fried rice steak, mango sticky rice, Thai iced tea, and Thai iced coffee. Everything was flavorful, well-presented, and tasted authentic. It’s a great spot for a date night or a casual dinner if you’re craving Thai food in NYC. We truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back again.

Curry Dumplings are best eaten hot—really like that coconut curry sauce to soak into every bit of the dumpling wrapper for the full flavor. The Mama Tom Yum Grilled River Prawns came with stir-fried instant noodles that were surprisingly tasty, well-seasoned and aromatic, and the prawns on top made it even better. The presentation was pretty eye-catching too. As for the Ground Pork Basil Fried Egg, it didn't have lemongrass, so it felt like it was missing a layer of aroma, but the minced pork was stir-fried until nice and dry, and mixing it with the runny egg yolk made for a satisfying combo over rice. The RUA Volcano reminded me a bit of American-style salt-and-pepper chicken, though not exactly the same—it had more of an American-Chinese vibe to it. The Thai Iced Tea wasn't overly sweet and had a stronger tea flavor, which I appreciated. The Butterfly Pea Lychee Soda was sweet and tangy, refreshing and light. Overall, each dish had its own standout point, and the meal definitely lived up to expectations.

Stumbled upon this Thai spot while walking around Brooklyn and it turned out to be a great find. The vibe is cozy and beautifully decorated with Thai-inspired details — perfect for a relaxed meal. Food highlights: * Pad Kra Pao was super flavorful and addictive * Curry crab had real crab meat and paired perfectly with rice * Duck leg was crispy outside, tender inside, and not greasy Overall, great flavors, nice atmosphere, and good value (around $40–60 per person). Would definitely come back, especially to try their lunch specials!
