Absolutely amazing and top-tier food. They specialize in Marathi/Konkani cuisine. We got the macchi (fish) thali and everything was extremely well made and delicious. This thali comes with fish curry, fish fry, clams with a lot of accompaniments like thecha, pickle, sol kadhi and sheera (for dessert). One of the best Indian restaurants in NYC!

As a Maharashtrian, I highly recommend Malvan to anyone looking for authentic Malvani flavors. Though the restaurant is newly opened, the food carries the warmth and nostalgia of home with a fresh, modern touch. The Kombdi Vade and Mutton Pandhra Rassa were outstanding, and the Malvani Kolambi was packed with rich coastal flavors. For vegetarians, the Kat Batata Vada and Malai Bhopla are absolute must-tries. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, full of warmth and authentic taste. If you're craving the true flavors of Maharashtra's Konkan coast, Malvan is definitely worth a visit!

The food was amazing, slightly pricey but the food itself was amazing. The owner, Malvan came to our table and spoke to us about the origination of the restaurant, and his other restaurant, Indian Table. Service was very good and the wait was not more than 15 minutes. The covered garden was very nice and the seats were comfortable and everything was very clean.

What a pleasant experience. We came here as a family to celebrate Mother's Day and the birthday of my mother. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive and really added to everything. The food was great. Plated well, full of flavour and some dishes I'd never had before. A nice mix of some dishes that were high in pepper and delicious and others that had no burning pepper but still thoroughly seasoned and cooked properly. Chimbori samosas were a unique dish with great flavour. Lamb in the Santra Bhed was cooked perfectly. Mutton Pandra Rasa was the highlight to me, although I enjoyed it more with a paratha and ate the Puran Polli more as a dessert. All in all, cozy restaurant with nice people and great food.

Food was inspired and excellent. I sort of expected it to be an extension of Indian Table, but the menu is unique and diverse. I highly recommend ordering a variety for the table and sharing "family style" so you can try everything.
