An amazing place for my daughter for the past 3 years. She has grown confident and eager to learn. She has had wonderful and nurturing educators for every year she has been there. The support staff work seamlessly with the classroom and the children.

I could go on and on (and on!) about Cobble Hill Playschool after my two kids have spent a collective three years at the school. Staff: In any school, teachers can make or break the entire experience. CHP teachers are a highly-motivated, super energetic self-selecting crew deeply committed to the play-based, emerging curriculum model, which calls for endless creativity and innovation that never ceases to amaze me. Teachers are *always* on the floor with the children, looking them in the eye (rather than down to them) for a warmth throughout the school that is palpable. Every staff member goes above and beyond in making kids feel important, taking children and their interests, their questions, their feelings, and their art so seriously (while having SO much fun). There have been many occasions when I've consulted a teacher for personalized parenting advice as they've truly come to know each of my children inside and out. Education: The emerging play-based curriculum really is fantastic in all respects. I've seen firsthand how lessons crop up based on kids' organic interests. No two lessons are the same, and yet both of my kids have shown amazing progress at CHP with improvements in literacy, math, etc. Learning goes well beyond hard skills like letter sounds, counting, color mixing. Teachers teach students about kindness, community, pride, responsibility, and so much more. Specialists: Some of the most incredible projects I've seen at CHP stem from performing arts, where the teacher made an extensive cardboard and paper mâché farmer's market with the 4s for 3s and 2s to "shop" in, and a pop-up space shuttle lined with keyboards that invited kids to tinker and role play. Unlike many schools where art is all about sending home a nice end product, CHP's super thoughtful art teacher helps kids engage with materials and focus on the process to foster little creators. (She's the best!) Community: Tons of family events make it easy to meet other parents, some of which have become our closest friends over the years. Kids often congregate at DiMattina playground after school which helps foster friendship among kids and their families. In summary, joining this community has been our best parenting decision by far. I hold CHP is responsible for my kids' creativity, confidence, and sense of belonging among their peers as well as their deep-rooted love for school and learning. It's a wonderful, wonderful place that perfectly prepared my kid to excel in grade school. No notes!

We feel so lucky to have our son at Cobble Hill Playschool. It is such a warm, encouraging and thoughtful environment for him to grow in. He started in the 2's program, where they were very tuned in to a successful transition to a preschool environment a few days a week. He is now in the 3's program, and is soaking up a wide variety of subjects (literacy, drama, music, math, etc) in a play based environment. The teacher student ratio is great and they really take the time to get to know every kid and work with parents to make it a good experience for all.

Our two children attended Cobble Hill Playschool for a total of 5 years. We are forever grateful for the love of learning that CHP's highly skilled teachers instilled in our kids. The Director, Kristin, is knowledgeable, communicates openly with parents and leads an impressive roster of teachers.

This is my son's 2nd year at Cobble Hill Playschool. We chose it because of the thoughtful play-based curriculum. We love how caring the teachers and staff have been with our son. I've also made great, life-long friends through the parent community! Although it's a co-op, and there's some parent participation involved, I love that the duty days are a way to spend quality time with your child in the classroom.
